Get in the Pit

If you’ve been paying even the slightest bit of attention, you’ve probably noticed a couple of new things over there → along the right hand column. Underneath the links for my profile and my MySpace, is a new link to "Get in My Mosh Pit." This link directly relates to the new banner down at the bottom of the page for Mohawk Radio.com.

Lemme ‘splain: Mohawk Radio is, in part, a MySpace-like community. But instead of being made up of emo kids and Internet hookers/spammers, Mohawk Radio exists for punk and hardcore bands and their fans. One other defining feature of Mohawk Radio is that it actually streams punk music (hence the “radio” part of the name).

But here’s what is really cool about Mohawk Radio: The majority of the bands with pages there are un- or independently-signed. And, unlike on MySpace, where you can usually only stream music, most of the Mohawk Radio bands have download links for their music.

Here’s music from a couple of the bands that I’ve found since I joined up. If you like this, there’s a good chance you’ll like most of the other stuff you’ll find at Mohawk Radio.
