New White Stripes - Coming Soon?

I don’t know how new this is at this point, but I just found it on YouTube: a 35-second sample of music from the upcoming White Stripes album Icky Thump. According to the band’s Web site, recording and mixing are complete on the album, although no release date is given. "We are doing our best (whatever that is) to release the album as soon as corporately possible,” the band said in a statement.

The disk was recorded at Blackbird Studios in Nashville, TN, and the site says this will be the first time a White Stripes album has included a title track. “Word around the sewing circle is that many of your favorite White Stripes type songs may not be your favorite (pronounced favaright) White Stripe type songs for long,” the posting says.

Tentative partial track listing:
*Catch Hell Blues
*Little Cream Soda
*Monkeys Have It Easy (discarded)
*Rag and Bone
*Clicky Bump (retitled into something pleasant)
*Blue Orchid (relocated to previous album)
*You Don’t Know What Love Is (You Just Do As You’re Told)
This vid clip is from a song called “I’m Slowly Turning Into You.” According -again- to the White Stripes’ site, the actual music from the track was replaced with “mid-eighties sampling keyboard technology to prevent what industry analysts are now calling ‘song poaching.’”

Here’s the clip, which is pretty weird:

And here’s a couple of live White Stripes tracks, to whet your appetite while we await further info on the new album.
