My Idea of Fun

Thanks to some indeterminate sources, a couple more songs from The Weirdness, Iggy and the Stooges’ upcoming album, have been leaked onto the Internets. And after some resourceful searching, your favorite well-mannered blogger managed to get hold of at least one song. At least just one I can share right now.

Iggy is the subject of an NY Times profile today, wherein they discuss the reformed Stooges, the upcoming tour, and, of course, The Weirdness. The Times tells us that while The Weirdness isn’t Fun House, it does serve to remind us that the Stooges are authentic: “...their simplicity and roughness isn’t just a casual disposition, or a consequence of being messed up, but a dogma.”

Check out the title track from The Weirdness, and be sure to check out the entire disk when it’s released March 20. The Stooges are also touring, including a show at SXSW (but not in Florida - what, they’re not playing reggaeton?):
